Who are you?

My name is Cassiopia Chandi, although my friends call my Cassia or Your Highness. Actually, no one calls me Your Highness but if you would like to, you're more than welcome. I am a novelist, a firedancer, an avid traveler, a shapeshifter, an unschooler, a tease, a person in love with life. I live in Northern California between the ocean and the redwoods where I spend my days trespassing, learning to dance, drinking coffee with close friends while we discuss the end of the world, writing stories, exploring rooftops and backalleys, feeding ducks, falling in love and generally having a pretty good time.

So, what is this blog and why the hell should I read it?

Good question. Each day I will post something that falls under one of the below catagories. The picture will appear beside the post so you will be able to tell at a glance what kind of post it is and pick and choose which topics you would like to read:

: Daily Life : The ups and downs of life can be pretty damn interesting. From cramming college work, to the give and take of friendship, conversations in dim coffee shops, dancing in the rain, bonfires and fire dancing, Salsa clubs and cooking disasters, sleepovers and Redbull, sunrises and stealing, hide n seek and star gazing, the stories of day to day life fall under this category.

: Drama : What kind of journal would be complete without the drama of friends, lust, love, hate, lies, trust, parents, teachers, fighting, and all those things that keep you on your toes?

<"> : Fiction : I spend a huge amount of time writing, day dreaming in print. My stories revolve around lust, wine, mirrors, the old traveling carnivals, the end of the world and wine, although there are always exceptions. From fantasy to Sci-Fi to plain old dark fiction, the aim of my stories is to make you feel as if you are dreaming, and from what my readers tell me, I manage to do that quite a lot.

:Adventure : I travel. A lot. My mother got it from her father, who was a 5th generation Carny. She gave the addiction to me. Every chance I get I leave town for deserts, jungles, forests, oceans, strange cities, prairies, ghost towns, mountains, hidden lakes, waterfalls, wonder. I have stared a grizzly bear in the eye, fallen asleep to the lulluby of wolf song, seen killer whales dive beside blue ice, been stalked by a small panther, touched a wild boa in the amazon, woken at dawn to watch macaws, been in the middle of a herd of bison a thousand strong determined to keep me from getting lunch before the restraunt closed. I have survived airplane trouble, falling trees, dangerous slops, falling rocks, lightening, Customs inspectors, foriegn food, political unrest and stupid tour guides. When you see this icon, you know it's goanna be something good.

:Current Events/Essays : I think this little icon tells you a lot about how I see the state of the world and the intellect of the majority of humanity.

:Poetry/All the Rest : A catch-all for anything else I feel like writing, also a place where you will see photos, artwork, cool links, and random shit.

Ok, the idea is cool but I just want to read your stories

Sounds like a plan. For links to my finished stories and bunches of other stuff, just go to my main website! http://fireopal.awardspace.com

O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.

O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.

Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
one from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
